As above, once all clefts are graded , they are stored into a temperature controlled room which I think is 20*c , along with the handles.
Ah yes remember that on the tour. It was impressive the attention to the detail and little things.
Handles are stored in temperature controlled room alongside the clefts to maintain consistency. Also re cleft size, they have the moisture levels of the clefts controlled and checked.
They are rechecked before pressing and if they are not correct the cleft goes back to the kiln/temperature controlled room (someone correct me, but it is def sent back in the process).
It's one of the reasons I have a new found respect for GM and would happily buy their bats online as long as I can choose the weight, even though they work off a pick up index
