Just thought I'd give this a little refresh after using my shoulderless bat on Sunday at nets.

Mines the @Northern monkey creation seen in this thread http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=44043.180 and charmingly re-named the 'TwatPaddle' - I'll add some more pics when i get time later.

I have to say, it has one of the nicest pick ups ever, and really helps with the old 'aggressive batspeed' - The Monkey used it himself on Sunday, and loved it so much he scuttles back to his shed to make himself one!

anyone else currently using one?

Weight difference is about an ounce and a half,,
I�ll leave it at that and have a net with it first, before working on removing more weight

I need to work on the handle as I�m really not a fan of big thick handles, and I�d originally left it very thick at the bottom for some reason.
I reckon there�s a fair bit of work to be done on that to get it comfortable for me

I have a 2-13.4 Amplus that I want to bring down to 2-11. Where else do you think I can take the weight off? I'd happy with the balance point moving down to mid/mid-low on that bat.

Can you take some off the spine?
And drop the edges/across the back
55mm peak spine is more than enough

The bat at the top has about 30mm edges and a bit of concaving

What is the advantage/disadvantage of bat shoulders?

I reckon the only advantage is you can get a bigger sticker on the bat
Would take a better man than me to detect a difference in balance etc with the shoulders removed
