A trigger is a movement designed to get you in a position to play the ball all round the wicket.

I keep seeing triggers used as a final movement and people trigger then play from there away and round there body thrus losing balance and weight distribution.

Triggers are not designed to be the finished movement

Cardio before nets, that sounds like proper cricket training

it is toooo much like real training. With my 'frame' i am more of a net person, dont do much running in slips  :D
Need all the help i can get with the new 2'14 monster i have been netting with. Goes like a gun!!

Anyway, back on topic. Here is a new video of one of the 3rd teamers first net of the year!

http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/carnforthcricketclub/videos/tom-obrien--batting-master-c-14002.html

Let me know what you think!!!

I'm sure all the forumites have had a good old chuckle in front of their computer screens over the club pro facing 100mph bumpers a 3rd teamer backing away from pacey bowling in a dimly lit sports hall. However purists will ask just what is the purpose of these practices? To reproduce an amateur movie clip resembling American Pie or to tune one's reflexes and oil batsman's techniques ready for the cricket season?

I think CCC's former Pakistan test star would have had little difficulty in dispaching these throat balls off the Bola with, but I'm sure he would have made practices more professional. After all what are we going to be facing in April? Not Brett Lee bowling on the WACA.

I don't think that all practice needs to be precisely situation specific. Exposing a 3rd teamer to some pacey bowling in a dimly lit hall may not realistically represent what he can expect to face come the first round of matches, however it can serve other purposes. Although the bowling did not appear to be played with much confidence, such a session can boost the confidence of a player when he returns to facing bowling of a lesser pace. Also just how easy is it to recreate English conditions in April whilst indoors?

A good point made! I think BJH & RDF should perhaps train together. I can imagine regimental and over analysed cricket practice could be great fun  ;)

I have a similar problem, I've been told to rest a bit more on the back foot before playing a shot so that you have more balance when playing a shot.

It also seems that your defensive shots are going too square and they should be coming back straighter.

If I'm not mistaken, you seem to be wearing right handed batting pads and a right handed thigh pad on. Not really helpfull, but thats the first thing I picked up, lol :)
