It says so in the "bible o village"
In amateur cricket there are 3 types of people.
White haters- there the ones that white up 2 mins before fielding. Change for tea and as soon as there batting is done.
Normal people- they white up with 30 to 20 mins of play started. And stay in whites until the equipment is away. They may even have a pint in whites.
The whiteout brigade. These are the ones that take the brunt of the banter. They arrive 2hrs before start already in whites. They stay for drinks, in this and drive home in them.
Hell there even seen in meet up car parks for away games sat on the car bonnet in whites!
And even the later don't train in whites! As its just village.
All jokes aside, I think it's the "all the gear no idea" view. The guy that tends to turn up in all whites at winter nets is the one that has alot of heart, but very little talent.
But there's always exceptions, not that any off the pros practice in whites. Special training gear. Shorts, thigh and chest guard outside there shirts etc.
