I think the best bet would be to just contact the retailer that any equiptment was purchased from. I wouldn't have a clue if they have anything in the way of a distribution centre/ factory like Kook and GM over here, that is certainly not to say that they don't.

Thanks for the suggestion but the bat was purchased from the uk. Aus retailers won't touch any warranty/repair issues for bats purchased overseas. Similarly the Aus GM distributor has no vested interest in looking after these bats. The distributor here will have someone that they use for repairs but I just dont know who. There is a crack on the back of the bat which looks fairly innocuous but I have had to lift the back sticker to get a better look at it and munted the sticker in the process. So i woukd like to have that sticker replaced and also get a second opinion about the crack given that it is a new bat that has only hit a handful of balls.

It won't be just 1 repairer, state to state will be different, even in Sydney there is more than 1.

I don't see GM Aus or anyone affiliated being helpful as like you've mentioned, they would have no vested interest in looking after somebody who is essentially not their customer. Unfortunately it is the inherent risk with choosing to buy overseas, I had the same experience a few years ago, and fortunately the UK retailer was really helpful.

I feel like it would be a pretty common issue with people choosing to buy from the UK considering how inflated the AUS prices are in respect to the UK prices.

I would suggest the poster contact whoever they bought it from or return it to us here in the UK.

Can I ask why you bought outside of Australia?

Kind regards

Edward

I'm a massive fan of the range and in the value it represents in the UK, the signature range is the prime example. But for $50aud more than you would pay for a signature at a Greg chappell cricket centre, you can buy 3 of the exact same thing in the UK.

I can't speak for the OP, but it feels like we are missing out on that value if we buy over here.

It's not practical to return it to the UK for what is essentially just a replacement rear sticker. The crack looks innocuous (then again it could be the start of storm damage revealing itself - ha ha).
So if I can hook up with whoever does warranty work in Australia I'm sure they will have a replacement sticker I can buy or pay them to apply.

Why buy bats from the UK? A guy in my team just bought a Diamond Signature LE in Australia for $795. I bought a Players edition for less than that. it's not rocket science.

Just looked at the prices of bats on GCCC. Double if not triple the price on some bats, and of course a good 6 months behind with all the graphics.

Is that common for other luxury/leisure type (iPhones/trainers) products?

Just depends on the individual distributor arrangement. Tennis industry for example is on the whole just a bit more expensive in Aus than the US (which is the largest tennis market in the world). However, some items are cheaper to buy here than the US. This is due to how the distributor chooses to price that particular item rather than on the actual buy price.

In Aus we have Gray-Nic to thank for the inflated pricing we now see. They jacked the prices up when they released the Legend Gold and everyone else followed suit.

GM UK - no response. Thanks guys. Good job.
GM Aus - no response. Thanks guys. Awesome work.

What is the point of having a contact form on your website if you are not going to reply to said contact??

Sent JP Gavan an instagram message at 11.30pm at night. He replied in 30 seconds!!!!!!!
At least someone is on the ball.
