Ahhhh f*ck it!! Why do I support this spineless, paper-mache, wet paper bag, f*ckwit of a batting order?

I feel Butler owes us a few test runs here!!

I think....as I posted before we, well not us but we like to pick the team  :) , we might have to choose one batter keeper in the short term.

That would open a space for Sam Curran or...a specialist opener. Don't actually know who that would be to be honest, maybe Sibey

And then choose one of Denly of Roy at number 4.

Anyone else have a better idea?  :)

Ed Smith hired the likes of Marcus Trescothick and Jonathan Trott to help him eye out players within the County Championship, but instead goes with this beatnik theory of a white ball opener being perfectly capable of doing it with a red ball despite predominantly spending his first class career at 4/5. What's the point?

Is anyone going to acknowledge that the ball Roy got today most players would get out to or does that not fit the script!

It was the same length as roots yet it got up to chest high yet roots was thigh?

It's a similar pitch to the Ireland game yes....a better one that moved all over the shop, but uneven bounce on this one.

Damp and overhead conditions as well don't make for easy batting yes quite true.

But It's still not really good enough.

England will stick with Roy, he has to have a fair run, but would he be better at 4 rather than opening...if so do they have to pick one of Denly or Roy to do that job...

Or....swap them Denly opens and Roy takes his spot?

Pretty much nailed on for a draw unless we bat terribly in the first session isn’t it?

If they can somehow (quickly) get 230-250 they might dangle a carrot and declare with two sessions left; all depends how ballsy Root wants to be

With a full day's play there's enough overs and enough in the pitch for us to get rolled with a lead of only 150

If Australia had held their catches might already be 7 down

I don't fancy bairstow to bat in a crisis so it will be down to butler and stokes to get to lunch somehow. A lead of 175 maybe if we get there a there's a chance we could win

The sort of day you just want to sit and listen to the radio/watch sky.im off zip lining over a London park.

Crazy I know

Steven Smith out of the match with delayed concussion. Australia have applied for Labuschagne to replace him. Smith unlikely to be fit for Leeds

Can't see any reasons why Labuschagne would be refused as a like for like replacement for Smith, is this the first time a concussion sub will be used in a test match?

157-4 at lunch, lead of 165. Around 67 overs left. Maybe give it a welly for 15 overs and set the aussies 250 in 50 overs
