The peak bent with a little bit of force from a ball. I wouldn't want this anywhere near my kit bag...

Not a little bit force actually. I was using a considering amount of force and the flex is only in the corners. Doesnt flex from the front. The ball still cannot be forced through the gap by hand even with considerable force. In comparison, i used to own an albion original 98 and the ball would easily go into the gap with little force

So it's cheaply made, isn't safe and looks similar to other things on the market.

What differentiates it from the previously mentioned crappy imitations?

I thought you were going to say the real problem was using the weighing scales on a fluffy rug :D

Appreciate the effort on the video but light, flimsy and cheap isn’t a confidence inspiring combo. Do they really plan to get the helmet tested? It would be a big effort and expense for such a cheap product and can’t make good business sense (moral sense aside).

Also, if you do more review videos then it is good to have a disclaimer if you are trying to promote a product and have involvement to help transparency (sorry if I missed that bit the video was a bit long so I was skipping)

Im not trying to promote the product in any way. Whats in the video is just my honest opinion on it. It is targetted towards a region where most people cannot afford gbp20 on a helmet. 99.9% of the garbage in pakistani local market is absolutely useless. This helmet is light, but it is not flimsy or cheap looking in any way. They're not testing this particular model for sure, but they're using the standard to make necessary changes to this design to make it "safe". Only time will tell whether they can succeed or not.

Well done on doing a video @Mfarank , not the easiest thing to do.

I personally find it amazing they can produce a helmet for that price, regardless of region/target audience

First of all the review is good. I agree is not easy to make these videos.
From product standpoint - a helmet does last for some time. So its better to spend more and get a better product where one is secure. no guarantee how safe the shell is.
So if the company wants to cater to the market where people will blindly buy looking at the looks, want double grill just for the heck of it, and don't want to spend money - it will work in that segment.
Still personally i feel something like helmet, buy a decent one to start with and be safe and have a good product that will stay in good condition after usage.

I just got a new GN helmet for our junior team.  Here's a snippet of what is written in the instructions : -

Gray Nicolls reccomend replacing your helmet protector:
- after a severe impact from a cricket ball.
- after a hard knock or squashing it.
- after 2 years.  Even with careful use, the performance of the product may diminish.

So even if you buy a 'quality' helmet, if you go by the book, you're up for a new helmet every 2 years maximum.
Everyone will have their own opinion on when to replace a 'perfectly good' helmet, so I can certainly see a spot in the market for a cheap helmet, particularly when the makers of the more expensive ones admit that they are not built to last.

None of the above actually. They just caught my eye and im glad someone from my country is finally attempting to get the BSI certification. They used to make helmets compliant with the 1999 standard before and I have been guiding and encouraging the owner to get accreditation and arranged a copy of the 7928:2013 standard for them.

No cricket helmet has ever been manufactured to any BS standard in Pakistan.

As per the owner, They used to produce to the 1999 standard for a well known brand at the time.

There is no BS Standard 1999 for cricket helmets.

There is one actually. I had an albion original 98 and it did comply with the 1999 standard. It said on the box and inside the shell.
