Hadn't seen much of Blundell before, pretty impressive innings.

Yes he dug in and played very well, showing great concentration.  I'd like to see his finishing wagon wheel though - I think it was in his fifties they showed one, and apart from three shots, every scoring stroke was legside!  He put away his offside shots, but I think Aus lost patience and bowled on his stumps a lot, which I guess you can do when you're 400+ runs in front.

He got lucky early with an LBW call that didn't get reviewed, and you could say Williamson was unlucky with his LBW, so I guess that evens out.

So he basically did everything you’d want from a opener/number 3?!?!?! Put away all shots barring the ones he wanted and showed discipline..

Precisely!  My comment was trying to imply that I didn't see his finished wagon wheel, but even at 50 it was showing just how much he'd put away his offside shots in order to stay out there.  Great adaptation after being caught behind in the first innings.

No idea how the Kiwis produce so many quality players from such a small population. Seems like every other series there's some promising player I've never heard of before.

There was a stat talked about in the recent England vs New Zealand Test commentary. Something along the lines of  - for every 1 NZ player who has a cricket contract, there are 7 contracted players in the UK.

Just underlines that they're doing something right in New Zealand.

Pink Test in Sydney, the Kiwis are ravaged by injuries. Williamson, Nicholls, Santner, Southee and Boult all out.

Glenn Phillips debut, Raval, Henry, Astle and Somerville into the side. Latham skippers as well.

Paine wins the toss and bats. Might be a tough old day for the Kiwis with two spinners.

Another 100 for Marnus. Looks like this wicket is going to turn square on day 3 - no pace or bounce

Labuschagne’s emergence has been quite staggering. In his first 93 FC innings he mustered 4 centuries. Pretty much a journeyman.

In his last 42 FC/Test innings he’s piled up 9 centuries - 4 for Australia and 5 for Glamorgan. Incredible

I’m feeling quite jealous that the criminals seem to have found another run machine. Why can’t that happen with England.

Pitch looks like it’s gonna rag square as early as day 2
