After buying an Allegiance at the start of 2009, I was convinced that my days of buying 'big brand' bats were over. The Allegiance is still going like a train, but it has scored over 1000 runs for me, and I wanted to get ready for when it starts to go. I contacted Gary a while back to sort out a couple of bats for myself and one for a teammate. My Allegiance is over 2'13 and has a pretty low middle - and towards the end I suffered from some fairly stinking tennis elbow. I asked for a couple of bats around the 2'9/2'10 mark, and when Gary mentioned the new Paradox profile I was intrigued to try them. Whilst I wanted Premium grade, I said I was completely unbothered by the aesthetics, with no preference over number of grains/heartwood etc. I just wanted some bats that would perform on the field.
They only arrived today so can only go off the little whack I've given them with the mallet, but am very impressed so far. The pick up of both is excellent, with good balance, and plenty of meat for the weights. Looking forward to getting them knocked in and having a crack with them.
The third one is a Surefire profile, 2'8, that I got in for a teammate. He is a Spurs fan, and hates red, so got the blue stickers instead of red.
Any thoughts/questions? Sorry about the quality of the photos - I'm not much of a cameraman!
Left to right they are: 2'8 Surefire Profile, 2'9 Paradox, 2'10 Paradox
