Because some think it should be banned due to the added power. I get the odd email saying we're ruining the 'spirit of the game' some can't even believe it's legal.

complies to the laws, if we all stood still, we'd still be using hockey stick style bats

edit: The bowlers will be thinking about how to bowl against it now [well I hope so in this day and age :D]

Admittedly Hayden was hitting some nice sixes, but there have been bigger shots hit with a standard short handle bat in the tournament, I dont think it is ruining the game one bit. If the batsmen is seeing it well then he will hit a big 6 with a hockey stick, cricket bat or rounders bat....if a bowler is bowling well it wont really matter what the batsmen is using.

Some people eh? Although im not a fan of the MMi I loved watching it in action today (cancelled a couple of my fitness classes to watch it!!), anything that provides a spectacle is welcome in my world

Will look forward to seeing it again hopefully soon!

I agree, it isn't something I would use, but it has been given the green light from the MCC, and watching Hayden today was tremendous, I don't see it as controversial, cricket bats used to look like hockey sticks, it would be more controversial if someone walked out with something borrowed from the MCC museum!

I don't think this is how the general public saw it!

dont see why they have brought the boundaries in though...surely the games are high scoring enough with the power on display!

I agree, the boundaries are way to short.
Yuvi has a Golden arm with his left arm dross.
