Pretty surprised how well M Vijay played. In India, he's been labelled a Test match specialist. but he was exceptional today.

Jeet, you know I like Indian players but the bowling in three quarters of these teams is rank and that pitch today was a road. Saying that, M Vijay used his feet really nicely and that pick-up over cow corner was pretty exhilarating.
Oh, and in worst commentator stakes, Robin Jackman wins hands down.

Vijay was out of this world, his strokeplay was effortless at times, also good to see Morkel in some knick, but his bowling is just not a high enough class for a supposed T20 opening bowler...

Alvaro, the wicket was very flat, I can't remember the Chapauk ever being flatter(even when Sehwag scored 319 vs South Africa there). But you still have to score them.

With regards to the bowling, Tait, Warne, Watson on paper is fantastic, Tait was damn right awful today though.

If you were to make a hypothetical list of the ten best bowlers in ipl, how many would be Indian?
Zaheer? Harbhajan? ????

Kumble(the old warhouse is better than ever!), Mishra(has been very good, sharp spin and good control), Pragyan Ojha(Deccan have been awful, but he can hold his head high). All Indian spinners have been good by and large.

Major let downs have been Irfan Pathan, RP Singh(econ of 10-12 per over!) , Sreesanth(he;s crap anyway), Munaf Patel, Ishant(career seems to be over at the age of 21!) All have played for India, pace have dropped vastly and can't bowl the right lines and lengths.

I think Irfan falls asleep during his overs.. He'll start most overs well first 4 balls 2 runs last 2 balls boundaries.. also at the end of the innings too.. Dunno if he gets too confident or what.. Besides Zaheer India has no pace (medium) bowlers.. sucks hardcore!!

exactly - the military medium fodder (worst bowlers are Narwal and Jaskaran Singh, who I honestly could tw@t about)  is just feeding the batsmen. In this IPL I must say that Mumbai Indians, and a lesser extent Chennai and Delhi, seem to be the only teams that could win without their overseas players.

I also dont get the obsession with Indian medium pacers trying bouncers with their lack of pace on Indian pitches!! When are they going to figure it out it doesn't work especially to the overseas players..

yep. when Raina is pulling and hooking with abandon you know that it can't be intimidating... Chennai also get on my goat with their celebrating, every time dear Suresh stops the ball in the field he goes on hollywood runs - too many EPL highlights and mock theatre :(
