Hey guys,
So one of the authorized retailers of Ca in Canada and USA, Murtaza Majid posted an update on his FB where he hand picked a few Ca bats from the factory. This particular Plus 10000 caught my eye. Its rare to find good looking and light bats in this price range now and my last visit to Pakistan in search of a bargain Ca was a dud. A few days later, this bad boy was at my dads and last night he brought it over to UAE and out came the inspection tools. And here are my initial thoughts:
-Edge size: 41mm
-Spine height: 66mm
-Toe edge: 22mm
-Toe center: 32mm
-Shoulders: 13mm
-blade width: 107.6mm
-blade length: 555mm
-bat length: about half cm shorter than standard SH
-Profile: typical CA mid sweetspot with spine running into the toe
-weight: 1048g or 2lb8.5oz (sticker says 2.6lb lol)
-handle: thin round with 5 rubber inserts
-grains: predominantly 8 straight grains with a bit of whobble and marbeling in couple of places. No heartwood.
-pickup: feels its weight or maybe even slightly heavier possibly due to the thin grip and handle
-2020 stickers and overall finish: leave a lot to be desired.
-concaving: gentle
-pressing and response: on the softer side. Very deep seam marks with tapping an old ball. Ping is great and sound is nice.
For a price of PKR 16500 or GBP 80 i think it will be a good secondary bat for nets and cement cricket. Maybe if it turns out well it might get promoted.
I like it a lot and it could turn out to be a great bat. If i were to compare it to the couple of RS bats that cost me about the same, it doesn't come even close in terms of mallet response or overall finish.
