Yeah, he seems a natural leader and a cool head. Suprisingly, cooks batting has come on with the captaincy!

Perfectly paced chase by Morgan. Cook looking in decent nick too. The less said about the rest, the better though. A few poor shots by the sounds of it

Haven't seen any of it but don't think it will be long before Morgan starts being thought of for the test team as he has proved consistently that he has the technique and especially the mindset for international cricket. Think Trott might have to watch his place soon. Would rather have him in the Test squad than Carberry.

Also I know he had a bad championship return last year but if you look at Vaughan's first class average before he played test cricket it wasn't great. Just looks a bit special and the kind of player that reacts well to pressure.

To be fair, Cook has been working on his batting for a long time now!
So his improvement in batting technique is more due to him and Gooch working tirelessly on him! And not the Captaincy.
However, some players have been known to crack under the pressure of captaincy. So its nice to see Cook batting well!!
I think he would have got a century in the first ODI, had the umpire not given him out to a screamer of an LBW decision!

Ali Cook is an interesting character and some of the banalities he has come up with in the media and how he actually is are two very different things. He is a seriously bright guy who puts in a lot of hours in the nets and is a natural leader and the responsibilities of captaincy will sit OK on his shoulders.

Whether he has the tactical nous and luck to be a longer term captain only time will tell.
(This may make me a paid up member of his fan club, so I will take all the abuse coming for that!)

He's a very promising test batsman. But was always a little slow with ODIs.
But he has worked on his game and is now starting to look like an even better all round (all format) prospect!!!

Obviously he will never have the class of Morgan, as he's not Irish. But he still shows some promise nonetheless!!  ;)

And We must never forget Morgans fielding ability, he'll save you 20 runs easy as well.

ha ha the luck of the Irish...

I saw the last over and the very fact that Morgan barely acknowledged his ton spoke it's volumes about his midset.

Not sure Cook will ever be a 2020 player - or, apart for the money involved, is really that bothered about that.

You guys need to calm down a bit. Morgan batted well, but he was out TWICE. If Vettori was the bowler, I'm 100% certain umpire Tucker would've sent Morgan packing.

Some of you are carrying on like Morgan is the new Michael Bevan. He's played a few good innings ang you guys want him in the Test side?
