I recently noticed an Aldred-based lament on the 'regret buying' thread and @SOULMAN1012 's offer of help. I had also come into possession of an Aldred, which while very pingy and well balanced, possessed a handle Clive Lloyd would have trouble getting his hands around with a single grip. After a few quick messages, a deal to reshape the handle to match a GM Neon (my favourite handle ever) and give the bat a bit of a diet.

I have just received the bat back in just a couple of weeks and must say that Chris has delivered on his part of the deal. The handle is thinner and very much similar to my much loved Vitas Neon. The weight reduction is spot on and the balance retained from the original feel. The finish is very impressive - shame that it will be diminished as the stick will be going into my bag for nets.

I do like the detailing in the stickers - although I wonder if the 'refurbished' sticker could be refined for future iterations.

I extend my thanks for making an unusable turkey into a potential match bat for this season.

Got any before shots.

I think I've given Chris similar feedback before, like the stickers, the model name designs and fonts need a redesign though  :D

I don't have any photos of the handle pre job. Chris did send me the measurements, which tell quite a story by themselves.

Handle was 46mm wide at its thickest point plus rope for binding. The new handle is 37mm and squarer, which is how I like it.

Stickers and fonts are currently in the re-design stage. These were my first proper set of stickers and I have no background in design work at all.
However like anything iv tried to take the feedback ok board which in the main has been positive but the font and positioning of the model stickers and refurb stickers will be reviewed on the next design

Sorry I didn’t take any pics of original handle but yes it was huge and certainly unique in its dimensions. Glad your happy with the work and that it’s a bat you can now use and get value out of

I think that rebalancing a bat after taking so much out of the handle takes skill. I would be more than happy to order a bat from you if it was needed based on this.

Customer service is also good - what you’ve said you’ll do in all aspects, you’ve done. Can’t ask any more than that.

A lovely EH21 finished off this evening and a clean up on customers old bat. This profile has a full spine into toe shape, moderate edge size and a long driving area. Grade 1 piece of timber with a finished weight of 2lb 8.7oz. This one is off to one of Suffolks lady county players and head coach of my counties ladies team. Other bat cleaned up was a Newbery 7

bat looks awesome and congrats on the website - very good value bats. I have a pair of your batting gloves which are still going strong.

Would echo comment on the sticker font for models and refurb - love the main branded stickers

Big thanks to Chris for some recent work to remove stickers and refinish/polish a couple of bats. I no longer have the equipment myself to do this sort of thing to an acceptable standard.

Without being disrespectful to Chris in any way, I'm sure he will know what i mean by this, I did not want to trouble the well established bat makers, I still work in the cricket industry and i know there aren't enough hours in the day nor days in the week at this time of year. At the same time I wanted someone I knew that I could trust to do a good job on 2 brand new bats that I intend to sell on. Knowing where Chris learned his skills and the care he has for quality equipment having known him for some time, I had no issues with sending the bats out to him. Given this was just quite a small refurb, it was nice that he took the time to send photos and updates of the job in progress. I have no doubt someone buying a bat would be well looked after. Lovely finish and well applied high quality scuff sheets, speedy postage in a well packaged box, top stuff.

Thank you for the kind words mate. Happy to do any kind of work for any customer as all a learning journey still for me. As you say customer service and the customer being at the heart of what I do is the main thing for me
