This one was perfect yea, did more hand sanding on this that Iv done on any other bat those new sanding discs you mentioned really reduce the swirl marks. That and a new polishing tool has given this a finish as good as most brands bats that Iv ever used.

Finally finished this one off last night. AM18 shape 1/2 inch shorter blade.

Specs
Grade 2 English Willow all sapwood
38.2mm edge
20mm toe edge with 28mm centre of toe
14mm shoulder edge
Totally full profile
Oval handle medium thickness with GM Dynamic grips I use on this model as colour goes with sticker design.

Not the best at pictures but overall very pleased with this one and the performance is superb. If anyone is interested in this particular bat drop me a PM.
As always any comments or feedback welcome.

So finally finished this little lot off for a forum member.

Refurb of what I think is an M&H amplus but was dressed as an Affinity when it came to me. Weight is 3lb

Copy of the above mentioned bat, specs have made is a little larger than the original but I’m happy with how it’s finished, and generally feel the shape is pretty much bang on. Toe is not as rounded on the new one granted but my jig is set to the toe shapes I normally make in my stock bats and customer was happy with this slight amendment. Weight is 2.15 fully dressed with double binding to get the handle as thick as the huge handle on the original bat.

Also my first junior bat this being a Harrow in the SL06 profile but a slight modification in that the spine runs into the toe as is the preferred shape of the owner of this little lot.

Loved this job as it allowed me to showcase my refurbished skills, work a new bat in a shape I don’t commonly make and also a new challenge of a junior bat. Weight is 2lb 4oz fully dressed.

As always feedback welcomed.

Thanks Chris for these bats. The parcel arrived today, and everything seems perfect. Will test the bats over the next couple of weeks.

Cheers

I tested the new @SOULMAN1012  made SH bat in nets, after knocking it in over 3 hrs.

Though the shape is bit off than requested but the pressing has been absolute and it pings off nicely. Ping is all that matters.

Great job Chris :)

Have had a little break from the forum of late whilst I was moving house and a few others bits and pieces going on but thought I’d share my first bat of 2021. Been playing around a little with the shapes to get some more distinction within the 3 stock shapes I make.
This is the SL06 which Iv amended slightly to remove some weight from the top third of the blade a bit like the LW ultra to help keep the size of bats that people are always asking for and also to stand out a little from the MH85 which is the other full length blade option.

Currently also building the new workshop in the garage with a partition wall and benches the length of back wall and down the side of the section Iv allowed myself for the workshop.
As always any fen back appreciated

Grade 1
Requested weight of 2.10 and this is after the first initial shaping.

Thank you for the feedback and yes i do try and leave as much wood as possible in the toe of the bat as possible to allow as much protection as possible. Still the area that i see the most damage to a bat on my own and also refurbs etc.

Glad you like the new amended shape as well
