The paper that normally gets selection right is tipping Broad to miss out
Wonder if we have to get used to Broad or Anderson now in rotation or playing Wood and Archer together proves too tempting.

I haven�t seen much myself to think Broad is not bowling well enough in the last 12 months

Personally I'd have Broad ahead of Jimmy right now. Not convinced he's fully over his ongoing injury issues.

The idea of England fielding two 90+mph bowlers is pretty exciting as well, potentially a few others in the wings as well (JOverton and Stone the obvious two).

I find it interesting that we are considering playing Archer and Wood together when we have 3 back to back tests (can't remember that ever happening).

Surely they would be better splitting them up because you would only get 2 out of 3 when it comes to the likes of Wood.

The idea that they would play wood, Archer and Anderson as an attack is mad given the history of injuries.

Nice. Would this goes against ICC rules about making statements or having advertisement on the face of the bat other than the manufactures? I am assuming Kook and Butler cleared it with ICC before posting?

Yes for sure, it�s a tough call for the selectors this one. Wood and Archer both fit to play as of just now. Anderson fit bit there�s got to be a doubt over him now for a five day test.
I think England are going to leave out Broad for the first time in ages.

I�m not sure he deserves to be dropped if they do...

Maybe it's just me and I am sentimental but dropping Broad to play both Archer and Wood is genuinely ridiculous

Seems Wood will be picked ahead of Broad.

Looks like the next couple of days are going to quite cool and cloudy so that may help Wood and Archer keep the pace up. Personally not sure how I feel about Broad being dropped as think he has bowled really well that last couple of series and as daft as it sounds maybe just maybe deserves to be picked ahead of Jimmy. However Jimmy in home conditions just has some serious stand out figures.
Really important we get the bowling right as our batting last couple of series has been pretty poor, not like we score 400+ on a regular basis

Broad does not bowl at the stumps enough - he bowls safe channels and waits for something to happen.

Not sure it will be a complete wash out, maybe on off all of the 1st 2 days.

There is an interesting thing with the toss now that you can't really shine the ball much, I mean how much sweat are you going to produce in this weather. Does that effect your decision at the toss? The 1st 2 days look the best for bowling but if the ball is going to do nothing then you want to bat 1st surely?
