Found my Excalibur a couple years ago when I tried a GM neon signature at nets that @t2ylo had brought along. As soon as I tried it at nets I knew it was the one, the handle, the pickup, the performance.

I think he was a bit reluctant to let it go at the time, but I was persistent and a few weeks later it was in the bag. I'm not playing so much at the mo but for the past 2 years I've been totally faithful and couldn't think of using anything else.

Your mate sounds like a most excellent chap

I am so glad I am not that fussy about bats!
Although when I have one I like I do keep it for a few seasons.

I had a very special bat as a junior, we went down to Chase and I got a size 6 bat which was originally a pro grade cleft, but due to some issue it was cut down to a junior bat. It was so much better than any other bat I had up to that point and probably started my interest in cricket bats!

As a senior, I got a very special bat from Phantom. I went to visit their showroom and noticed this unstickered bat hidden in the corner, after tapping it up I had to have it, the ping on it was miles better than any other bat I have used. It's very similar to one that Chad uses, it must be special to beat out all his other bats :)

I’m not too fussy. I have trimmed down my bats to only 6 and I rotate them. They all perform well, are different weights, have different handles etc but it doesn’t make a difference to me. So long as a bat goes well the rest is down to me.

Have to agree here. I've generally picked a bat up and if I like it I go with it. When I was younger I couldn't afford to buy multiple bats, so even if I had one which wasn't amazing I'd play with it until it went. Never really affected how many runs I scored tbh.

Also, the more you play with them the better they get, but think people want instant results these days too.

Thanks to cbf I've tried a number of bats and found my sweet spot is SH, mid middle and under 2,10.

Yet the one for me at the moment is a SSH, L&W Special Reserve Ultra (mid to low?) and 2,12 (2,13 with thicker grip and counter weight). Sounds epic and hit a big six to win the game last Sunday.

Looking to swap a bat for a teammates H4L Butterfly which I can use in the nets to preserve the Ultra.

I have found at lease 30 odds ‘the one’ since joining CBF. When I first joined CBF, I had 6 bats and now I have 136.

Yes and it's about to break!

Picked up off here, Newbery Krakatoa SPS off @Chad (the piano sold it really 😂)

Absolutely flies but has gone through the toe and up the back

Hoping my GM noir ends up as good! In its early stages but it's promising

I had found "the one" but it was not my bat.
It was a cheap grade 3 Kashmir willow DSC bat. Prolly cost US$20.

The weight and balance was unreal for me. I was playing strokes with it like crazy. Every single shot that I wanted to play, executed to perfection. I found the middle of that bat at every time. Picked an off toes ball pitched on the leg stump to deposit for a huge six without any effort. Played inside out strokes for sixes in a nice size boundary.
The same bat was just another ordinary bat for the owner. He had bought it for nets or something.

Before I could make a move to get it off his hands, he moved out of the country.

Hunt him down.

This is CBF so... *waits for sale thread*

I've had two bats I felt were perfect for me at the time - a Kookaburra Big Kahuna bought when I was a teenager, and my current match bat. Got a stupidly light cleft in and had to take as little off it as I could to get it up to my weight, and it just makes batting feel easy.
