Those stickers bare some resemblance to the Newbery Oz branch, which I think was run as a separate entity.

I thought this!

Well, I guess if I wanted a bat like Newbery used to make, I'd go to Salix now. A Pod or similar.

I understand the goal of flashier graphics & a low cost bat. Just... Not quite like that.

Not a Keeley? Or other brand Keeley-made?

Made by Chase

I'd be surprised, Chase are notorious for being against sticker brands. And at £99.99 RRP Newbery would be buying them in for a stupidly low price - has to be imported velum grade or something of the sorts.

But you are a 'sticker brand'? The difference being you don't pretend anything otherwise?

Yep, pretty much! In reality instead of paying myself/a member of (hypothetical) staff to make 'Neon Cricket' bats, I simply pay staff with a serious wealth of experience from another company to do the hard work for me.

I'd love to sit here and say that one day I'd consider bringing all of the bat making in-house, but there'd be very little point - the sheer cost of setting up a proper bat making facility and the additional space needed to house it all would make for a terrible business decision compared to how I operate at the moment. Ultimately Neon is a branding company as opposed to a 'manufacturer' of any description which is totally cool with me :)

A fella in the Newbery shop at Hove County Ground claims to be the head batmaker at Newbery.  At least he does to parents buying expensive bats for teenage sons.  :o

But I don't think Newbery etc. pay 'hypothetical' staff at all. They still have to get the bats made, same as you!

Surprised by this as previously made very clear when visiting that they just sticker up and confirm bat grades in Hove

Only reporting what the parent told me. I expressed surprise, but he'd just shelled out a fair whack of his hard-earned on his (delighted) son's new bat, so you have to be tactful.

Since then the son has got sponsorship from M&H  So I'll probably be requiring some more of that tact!

They have a bench with wood shavings that they use on Instagram all the time.  ;)
