Custom Scott G3
« on: January 23, 2021, 05:19:48 PM »

Having worked out roughly what I didn't spend on beer with no cricket season, decided to treat myself to a new Scott bat over the holidays.

Firstly have to say Jonny is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Really quick to answer questions, provided a great range of G3 options, happy to discuss things in as much detail as I wanted and then made up and sent out the bat in record time.

I asked for an inch shorter blade and a quarter inch longer handle to end up with something approximately harrow sized but with some serious meat to it. Came in pretty much bang on the 2lb 9oz I'd requested, pings like a demon with an old ball and the free cover with the bat was a really nice touch.

Approx 38mm edges, 60mm spine and plenty of wood left in the shoulders and toe. Mid middle, slight duckbill and a nice and full profile. In conclusion, get yourself a Scott!

60mm spine on proper measurement, that'll teach me to try and read a ruler upside down 🤦‍♂️ sorry Jonny, now amended!

To be honest, that looks to be one of the best 5 grainers I've seen, the grains are spaced real nicely, and they go straight through the toe - cracking looking bat!

It was a pretty clean bit of willow tbf. I love the lower G3s and I've actually picked a cleft out for myself this year which is a G3. It's light and pings!

I should clarify this is a G3 and not G2. I didn't have G3 stickers, as the intention was to not offer them initially, hence the G2 sticker on this one.
