Hex grips
« on: February 25, 2021, 11:36:19 AM »

Has anyone used these grips for a season noticed any damage on cricket glove palms?  :) what are your thoughts on this cricket grip?

These are my grip of choice.  Provide fantastic grip on the bat.  Noticeable that they are appearing on the non-GN bats of a number of international players including Root.

I haven't noticed any excess glove wear but I use Pittards which are fairly tough.  When I used a pair of sheep leather palms with a octopus grip the wear was very heavy but I can't comment on the hex grip

How thick would you say they are in comparison to other grips? I stuck one on a club bat when I was sorting out our kit bags and it certainly looks interesting.

The grip itself is actually quite thin.  I previously used a thick octopus grip on top of 2 chevron grips on my bats.  To achieve the same handle thickness after replacing the octpus grips with hex grips required three layers of zinc oxide tape.  Results are excellent though.  Very solid feel with lots of grip

Cheers, that's an interesting one. I've switched to chevrons to accommodate my child-size hands but sounds like a hex grip might be worth a play about with.

I find that getting the feel of the handle right can completely change the way the bat picks up (it is also far cheaper to play around with the handles rather than buying a new bat!).  I would certainly recommend giving the hex grip a go

Just a shame they only come in the 3 colours!

Best grips out there IMO. Really like the feel they give.

Kippax seem to have introduced them on their latest range so we might see some more colours soon!

If they come out with some ridiculous variations like neon pink I may have to just switch regardless of whether I like the grips or not 😅
