Pro's swapping bats
« on: March 31, 2021, 09:47:25 AM »

Looks like Ben Stokes borrowed one of Mo's sticks for 2/3 of the recent T20's, I wonder why.
He went back to GM's for the ODI's, having used them for the tests. Also seems his restickers skills are behind some forumers  :D

The fact that he had GM stickers, indicates that they are well aware of this practice. And fully on board.

Look closely at the photo of the face.
The sticker is damaged towards the bottom, which implies to me that he removed them from one of his GMs and stuck them on the new one.

Also note the tape holding the stickers down.

It would be a surprise if players didn't carry a lot of stickers with them on a long overseas tour given that they are very likely to need to drop a bat in to a bat maker for repairs at some point which would necessitate new stickers on the bat

Pros regularly have spare sets for repairs as @SD says - can pretty much guarantee GM wouldn't be happy about it, they're one of the strictest going with pro bats from what I know of it all (admittedly it might be a separate rule for Stokes...)

Also the bottom sticker is incomplete.

I used to have a photo of Joe Root in his GM days with a massive Octane which had poorly sanded edges...
