The Hundred - bought tickets?
« on: April 07, 2021, 09:51:05 AM »

Morning all,

Guess mixed views on the Hundred but seems real interest from the youngsters (well, mine anyway) in this format.

So, anyone bought or planning on buying tickets?

I am currently sat in a long waiting queue to purchase!

Appears around half of my junior team are keen to purchase (some havent been to a game before)and with tickets at £10 adults and £5 under 15 its priced well. As an old git i would prefer a day at a championship game in my deck chair so hoping this may happen soon!

I used to love a day at a championship game when I was a kid. Plenty of kids did.

The need for instant gratification is learned behaviour? Behaviour that can be easily monetised?

Might be the first time I've ever agreed with @Bats_Entertainment  :)

Absolutely zero interest in going to see the Hundred. Could not care less about the Welsh Wizards, the Yorkshire Puddings, Warwickshire Wags or whatever the teams are called.

My brother is taking me to Lords for the London double header in July 25th, otherwise I’m not going to any fixtures. Means I get to see a friend in action for Oval Invincibles too

I did, long and hard.
Sadly I just have no interest. I would rather take the kids to a blast game or the Guildford festival with Grandpa.

It will be great to just get back to watching some live cricket. Jury out for me on the hundred but lets see. A bit strange for a Kent fan like me to see Kent players lining up with Surrey players  :o

Fingers crossed for a championship game in May all being well too.

Nope. It’s such a pointless competition, and another stupid idea from the doddery old sods within the ECB who will try anything to wrestle even the slightest bit of power away from the IPL, BCCI and ICC. Who is it actually for?  If someone thinks T20 is too long a format then cricket isn’t a game for them, and they should probably see a doctor about their ADD. 20 fewer balls per innings won’t make a difference. I’ll give it two seasons before it folds.

I really don't get the hatred for this competition. At the end of the day it's cricket. And if its getting young players into the game and wanting to watch cricket then it is only going to benefit the game.
