Long term, yeah I don't see how he fits in quite yet. Don't think he'll get a spot over Pope. Short term, NZ series he'd be a decent shout.

Think he will bat six for the NZ tests. The IPL crew are rested, and Stokes injured, so gut says six batsmen, Foakes then four quicks. I fancy it's as simple as Burns vs Bracey, provided Sibley recovers. Something like:

In English conditions I really like that side. Only possible change would be Burns in for Sibley on the basis that Sibley has been out injured a fair while whereas Burns has been in okay form.

I think Stevens originally had his contract ended by Kent, after a while there seemed to be a change of heart. whoever made that decision needs a pat on the back.
He's got to be top 2 best players at the club, if not top 1  :)

Probably one of Kent’s best ever signings. Barely bowled for Leicestershire, but has been an integral part of the side with bat and ball since he joined. I have also forgiven him for once “losing” one of my bats.

They did a U-turn immediately after that career best double hundred against Yorkshire. It had been announced that he would be released at the end of that season.
