Started the Saturday league season with a win which is always nice! Opened the bowling and bowled very poorly, far too full with far too many full tosses. At one stage they were on around 90-3 off 20 overs but thanks to regular wickets including two tailenders for me to pad my figures with when I came back on, we got them to around 140 for 9 before their final wicket partnership kept us out in the field for the final 10 overs taking them up to 160 odd. In reply we were in almost exactly the same position at the 20 over mark except we'd only lost 2 wickets and both of their best bowlers had used up their overs. Then on came two fairly ordinary slow spinners who took 7 wickets between them, batting at 8 I scored a very slow 12* trying to shepard the tail as we scraped home by one wicket.
Didn't realise that bowling a decent line and length qualified you as a special talent these days I'll need to start talking up our slow-medium seam bowlers more.
