Better late than never.

With 100% bias, I'm hopeful we see Will Jacks in England colours at some point, ridiculous knock tonight

He's such a hot and cold player I don't know if he'll make a sustained case for it. Saying that, he's so exciting it's hard not to want to see him play a higher level.

Gues it’s hard to see what his role would be, despite the test batting woes the cupboard is well stocked with white ball batters. And England B batting lineup in T20 would be as good as many full national sides.

Eventual replacement for Moeen Ali perhaps as a batsman who can get through a couple of overs of spin?

The fact that Will Jacks doesn't get into Surrey's championship side tells you a lot lot about how specialised the different forms of the game have become.

I should have added that I was referring to England's LOI squads; seems to have really kicked on after last year after a few years of just not really getting anywhere. He's still only 22, so time is on his side; that shot that hit the grandstand roof was just ridiculous.

Seen that Labuschagne was also left stranded last night, seems like he's got the game to be a 3 format player

The thought of an England side a few years down the line featuring Banton, Jacks and SCurran is pretty exciting.

Not sure on that. Surrey have a much larger first XI squad than most any other county, and he's probably next batting cab off the rank.

Making this chase at Taunton look like a doddle, 50 for both Laurie Evans and S.Curran

Some big scores by teams tonight. Notts 195, Somerset 204, Hampshire 215 and Yorkshire 240. Yet not one game on Sky! Can't believe it, give them my money and have to watch the PSL. Don't get me wrong, I watched and enjoyed their games before Covid hit, but now I want to watch English teams playing in the Blast. I'm sure they have contractual obligations, but why not show both? They have enough channels to be able to do this.

to be fair, unlike the Yorkshire Leicestershire game the day before, it was not a 200 pitch.  Bairstow just went absolutely ballistic once he was injured.
