You didn't even need to bowl your mystery spinner, I see! Good work.
* Wish I could be bothered to read it all.
I managed to get a couple of overs in and pick up one wicket bowling them through the gate to hit middle stumps.
Wasn't who I meant.
Who did you mean; not Paul Crego?
Yep.
I'm not bragging, but I can bowl wicket to wicket and bat better than Paul Crego! Most people on here probably can, to be fair.
I agree with you there but he has probably improved the last time you played with him unless you have been playing for East Herts.
I was filling in as captain in our (Chingford Cricket Club) 4th XI on Saturday as the normal captain is away for 2 weeks in Turkey for a well needed holiday (didn't help that his middle son fractured his ankle playing cricket in a freak accident). Anyway, I tossed up with the opposition captain (who was also standing in for their regular captain) and explained to him that we had our own umpire (our club's President) and that he would do both innings from one end which according to the league (Essex) rules if an umpire is supplied they must do both innings (this happened in the away fixture against this team earlier in the season). I won the toss and elect to field, as we were about to start play, their captain said that he did not want our umpire to officiate their innings, as our team consisted of players who have played the game for many years and are part of the committee in some way or form, calmly explained to their captain about the rules about umpires (which we told him when he kicked up a fuss in the previous encounter), which lead to him hailing abuse at me saying do I speak English and being a little girl (I just laughed it off as I thought he was going to have a heart attack with how heated he got); one of their players had to take him to one aside to calm him down. We eventually started play about 10 minutes later due to this outburst and their captain umpired from the other end and I was fielding at mid off thought that he was rather harsh with some wide ball calls from one of our younger players; anyway, we bowled them out for 113, 6 bowled, 1 caught and 3 run outs, with their captain being the last wicket run out and injuring himself in the process. We chased it down in just over 20 overs for 3 down with our number 3 scoring 77 not out off of 49 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes and took their captain for 26 in his one over. We have had to write a report to the league about the opposition captain. Our 4th XI are sitting proudly at the top of the table undefeated with the league title only 1 or 2 victories away depending on other results.
I've never posted in this thread but I had to share my day with you... 101, 7/21 and a hattrick! I'm retiring now!
