Oh, you hadnt mentioned it!

I don't mind if they want to do it but i think there ought to be a rule, no more than the players per county between the combined squads!

Your idea would make it even more artificial.

The ECB and Sky are trying to sneak this in to maximise revenue.

It was mentioned during the last Test that New Zealand play something like half as many matches as England do.

It�s part of the ICC World Cup Qualification Super league so they had to play it sometime. It was due a year ago but postponed because of covid restrictions.

I think all nations bar India, England and Oz lose money every test match they play.

The politics of the ICC and the fixture lists are a joke, but commerce seems to rule.

Don�t see what the fuss is about, some of the fixtures will clash it hasn�t happened very often to my memory.
The fixture list is packed for England, the players also play franchise cricket.

It�s a bit of the same argument players should not miss Championship cricket to play in the IPL. Like it or loathe it the players must be given the chance to play in it.

You could make a reasoned argument the IPL and big bash etc has fast tracked those that play in our one day team and innings like we saw from Bairstow would just not be possible without it.

There has to be some give in the schedule so games could overlap in future

I really don't see the issue with it being played at the same time. The 2 sides are virtually completely different now, different coaches, only really Bairstow, Stokes and Root playing ODI and Tests. And Bairstow's replacement got a 100, Stokes wouldn't of played focusing on the new role and Root possibly rested as its a T20i world cup year not ODI world cup year.

Plus adding in the proper exposure it give an associate nation is always good for the game.

Seen a lot of cricket never seen that. I knew it would be out thou off the other player.

However off the umpire as the commentators originally thought I don�t know.

But I expect some on here do know.

I guess dead ball if it hits the umps and a fielder catches it
