Think maybe losing that early wicket could have spooked them a little, as they don't bat as deep as England. England know even if they lose one or two early they can have confidence in what's coming later. Maybe India don't quite have that as much? Plus you don't want to go hard and be rolled for 130. Sometimes easier chasing and knowing what you have to do.

Either way, you can't take anything away from Butler and Hale's. That's was exceptional T20 batting!

Personally think someone like Pant has to open the batting in the Buttler role - ridiculous to have him coming in with a couple overs to go!

Superb batting from Hales and Buttler, they made their bowlers look extremely average. Not bad when their two opening bowlers have been getting by far the most swing out of any other pair.

His T20 record is pretty middling compared with the other options they have at the top of the order.

Ind needs a white ball reset like Eng did few years ago. Indian media/bcci are obsessed with finding/uncovering all format players, makes for good reading but there are no truly all format players. They end up getting jack of all trades instead of specialists for the format. Earlier they realize this, the better. Separate teams for odis, t20s and tests each specializing in the skills needed for that format is the future. For T20s, majority must be youth with 1/2 seniors at most to play fearless cricket.

They really do need to, when you look at the WC as a whole India really haven't been very good, they should have lost easily against Pakistan and the rain came against Bangladesh and they bullied them to get back out there when they were behind on DLS! They also got well beaten by SA.

No leg-spinner, no genuine quick, no real batting depth with Ashwin/Axer at 7.

Agree plus suryakumar should have came at number 3 and made full use of powerplay. I think it is about time Indian team should inject Shaw, Sanju Samsun and some young bowlers instead shami and buvi.

Shaw not getting in the side with his 150+ career strike rate is absolutely bizarre. Indian selectors are strangely conservative with their white ball sides.

Sam Curran must be the most improved player over the past 2 years. Remember all people said was he isn�t quick enough to trouble top players but seems to have so much control and innovation to his game.

Just got to put a batting display together now after 2 early wickets

Pretty tense final that! Pakistan bowled really well just after halfway and brought themselves into it, but Stokes is just so good in those situations. Moen played his part too near the end, but all set up by Curran and Rashid with the ball. Some great cricket from both teams at times tho.
