Ah, that's a good point - I stand corrected in that case. The Hypa I've got here has a 35mm edge and 58mm spine, so some lost from the peaks. The Brava here has 39mm edge and 61mm spine. Thing is, if it would have all been sanded off, 2-3mm is still a fair chunk to sand off the bat overall.
Warning. Possible can of worms here...
Did I miss anyone mentioning that the Brava has a flatter face to make the edges look bigger? What will make the clear the rope more often? A few extra mm or the right profile to suit your style?
Did anyone ever calculate what helps you hit the ball further, weight or volume? If it was pure volume then the scoop bats would have never of worked.
Plus are those extra mm worth it when you realise those squarer edges make it more prone to damage?
For what it's worth, I do like the Hypa as the profile suits my style. If I were to go to shop to pick one out, maybe I'll be swayed by big edges but I hope I'd pick one based on pickup/rebound plus looks, maybe even in that order.
