The Bairstow one will divide opinion. If you're an Aussie (or a CBF member who doesn't rate Bairstow😆), you'll see no issue. For me, it's naive from Bairstow but poor from Carey. It's almost like a mankad if someone isn't trying to actually steal a run, it's in the rules but against the spirit somehow. Bairstow was batting in his ground, then marks it again before moving and wasn't trying to steal a run or gain any advantage. So it just feels cheap to me.
Fair enough. I just feel it's a bit poor personally. I'm not saying it's not within the rules, or that Bairstow want dopey, just that to me ot didn't sit right. If he was attempting to gain an advantage, then fair enough, but he wasn't so just didn't sit right. He out under the laws of the game tho, so it's immaterial I suppose
Bairstow touched back which would be enough in any cricket we play but not enough under the rules.
