Regardless of what you think of his selection as keeper that's hilarious.

Root chance was tough, Pope drop was very poor.

robinson looks really short on pace, doesnt look like hes the fittest guy in the world.

roots chance was really tough but i would always want the keeper going across to that, YJB's feet were all over the place. not saying foakes would take it but i reckon he'd have got there

So Bairstows even getting blamed for other people dropping em now?! But harsh innit? 😆

Not convinced even Foakes would have taken it but it is a bit worrying that Bairstow looked like he was completely off balance when the chance came. His keeping just doesn't look like it's there at all.

If you look at where the keeper and first slip stand that was a mighty hard chance so low down to Root.
Same thing happened in the last match. Bairstow the batsman is an automatic pick as a keeper he is a well build unit hampered further by footwork.

Both chances last game and this the keeper has to go for it to the left. If it spills out at least you got there.

JB is not there only one thou, Pope should of taken his that really was not difficult

not blaming him for the drop, im saying he should have gone for it but got himself all over the place with his feet and ended up going the other way

I really think it's harsh to say he should be going for it when it's actually carried! Yes it was tough, but it carried to 1st. Wasn't wide of 1st either tbh.

No doubt Foakes is a better keeper, but he ain't God! 😂 Everyone acts like he's never dropped anything. Just feel Bairstow does get some unwarranted stick at times,. Although a lot of it for his keeping in the last year was warranted, people on here calling for him to be dropped completely even tho he averaged 50 in the first test and over 60 last summer is a bit baffling to me.  :o

Averaged so well last summer while not keeping though 😅 has to take a toll on the body and have consequences for your batting.

i wouldnt drop him, but after so long out injured and no real game time i would have brought him straight back in either.

in an ideal world, i would have him as a batter only and foakes keeping. would mean brook or crawley missing out though
