Tongue bowled really well he has a bit of extra pace and even on these turgid pitches made things happen.

We saw how well Cummins and Starc bowled to hurry up our batters we need to do the same.

Robinson is quality he gets good players out.
We can get a result at Headingley it’s just a shame we didn’t take our chances in the first two games. The Aussies were always going to be a big test

Yes he has had shoulder problems before and a lengthy period out. The only sensible decision is get a proper keeper in and JB plays as a batsman. Calling up Lawrence with no big scores makes no sense.
I think Ali will play and Wood with Anderson and maybe Tongue missing out. Any overheads and Robinson will move it around

Didn't Lawrence get a ton fifty a week ago for Essex?

He is a good player no doubt I guess it depends of whether the view is we need a proper keeper. For me we do and make the best of the batting order.
It’s a tough ask to come in now and play in place of Pope. I like Lawrence but 3 looks too high. I think Ali will come in which gives us potentially more with the bat.

Our tail looks too long to me at Lords.

Don't mind it, and with Woakes, Wood and Moeen also shores up what was a pretty long tail

There isn't another keeper in the squad.

I'm excited to see Murphy get a game, I'd bring Boland back in for Hazelwood too. We look too strong for England, a series loss will be a good way for Broad to finish up.

Why are England persisting with Anderson? He has hardly looked threatening so far. Time for England to look beyond?

Aren't they 'resting' him for the 3rd test? I thought Wood was coming in for Tongue, Woakes for Anderson, Ali for Pope?

He hasn't been at his best obviously, but he hasn't been terrible. He has beat the bat a fair bit too, but he's admitted himself he's not been at his best. The pitches really haven't suited him either. Anderson is still a class act in the right conditions.

XI announced - Woakes, Wood, Moeen in for Pope, Anderson, Tongue

Don't mind it to be honest - certainly shores up the tail and we've a point of difference now with Wood. Guess the concern is how Brook will bat a few spots up...

The selections for this series get worse by the game. Glad to see Wood back but why are they suddenly a batsman light :(

I mean, if your top 6 aren't doing the job then 7 isn't going to make much of a difference. Think it's absolutely fine.

I don’t think the selectors had any choice but to bolster the tail with Woakes and Ali. Wood gives us a bit extra pace and Broad and Robinson look good to me.

Unconvinced about Brook 3 it is a big ask but let’s see
