What kind of reviews do you want to see...
« on: July 04, 2023, 10:15:20 PM »

Hiya folks, as always, spent a bit of time sorting the collection. (For those of you who know me, it's more than just a day or 2 job) There have been a plethora of bats that haven't seen a camera lens, so much so that I couldn't possibly post all of them. Was just wanting to put out feelers as to what interests people? Feel free to post, maybe stating certain brands you like to see personally, etc etc. This would be awesome to know, if you frequent the forum please do comment if there's something you'd like to see more of (Bats wise) as there may already be reviews that others could point you to, or some may even have the model, and be kind enough to post up some pictures and a write up of them. :)  Even feel free to suggest an option if you feel I've missed any!

I'd be interested in older model (shaped) bats that have held their (cash) value for collectors, bats with unconventional specs - long handle, shorter blade (6-3 spec).

Hi Chad,

With the cost of living increasing and the inflated prices for cricket gear, i would really love to see a budget review of gear for club cricketers. Im sure pro grade keeleys are great, but sometimes a GM Brava 606 from all All Rounder sale/ or a lower grade from Red Ink may be the price points for most entry level cricketers. I personally find it frustrating that most reviews are of higher specs of bats pads gloves where you’re guaranteed quality & not enough in the entry level.

When people said they wanted bat porn, I'm not sure this is what they meant 😂

Naked but for a pair of keeping pads and a Stuart Broad bandana.

The poll is in, and these are the results:

I'll see if I can start working on reviewing some of the types of bats of interest, and hope that anyone else here who hasn't shared their bats will feel brave enough to do so. We're not asking for @Cover Drive levels of eloquent reviews here, but some photos, and your own thoughts on the bats would be nice! Seeing how much bats have changed in the past 10-15 years, it'd be nice if CBF is still alive then, and we can revisit bats reviewed decades ago!

It does seem like reviews of Budget and Custom Bats are of the most interest, with Exotic, New brand and Players shaped bats being sought after too.

Was going off a range from GM 303 to Gray Nics 3 Star prices off the top of my head, which were 80-120 back in 2006 😂 I guess sub £160 would probably be more appropriate.
