Advice on Puma bat for sale online
« on: January 19, 2024, 08:57:30 PM »

Hey all

Im sucker for cats and love anything Slazenger or Puma. I have seen this lovely pink Puma bat on Ebay and wanted to know your thoughts. Link is below:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256381694947?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=T2LAaZq_QDC&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=UwbenipkTx2&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I usually use a bat which is 2.9-2.10 so with this being 2.14, can I shave down 0.4-0.5 pounds without spoiling the stickers?

TIA

Hi Imran,

To lose that amount of weight from a bat would be a huge amount, especially whilst wanting to keep the stickers.

I would unfortunately look elsewhere for a bat

You couldn’t lose any weight without losing all the back stickers and given how concaved they are from memory I reckon at best you could lose oz before you totally lose the shape and dimensions of the bat.
That’s just a dense piece of willow

Most I've ever had out a bat successfully was about 2oz, 4/5oz is going to murder that bat. If you want it as a collectors item it looks good though.

I dunno man, it seems from this thread and the Etsy one that you're searching for something in the wrong place at the moment, and you're trying to make your search results fit what you want rather than finding the right thing in the first place.

I'll bow down to others on the weight reduction thing on this bat. But more generally I would 100% recommend you get your price point in mind for what you're prepared to spend and then do one of the following:

- go to a cricket shop near you if you can, and pick up a whole load of bats until you find one you really like.
- speak to one of the reputable online dealers like Ayrtek's The Cricket Boutique, Serious Cricket or Pro:Direct.
- Do your research about smaller custom makers, many of whom post on here, and find one who might be able to make precisely what you want.

I'm sensing from this topic and the other one you've got about £400 to spend. You'll have plenty of choice at that price point wherever you go, and should be able to find a bat you're really happy with.

Good luck and enjoy, bat shopping should be fun! Let us know what you end up choosing.

To give you an idea of just how much weight you’re trying to loose this is just under 2oz.

Making it a size 6 would prob get you there 🤣
