Where to find custom made oversize bats
« on: October 10, 2024, 06:01:24 AM »

Hey guys,

looking at getting some custom bats made as I am coming out of retirement due to torn knee ligaments I did this playing a pull shot so thinking the bat is definitely the problem  ;)

I am looking at hoping to get two shapes made up

Old maxwell shape as seen in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMezMsfQNuI   0:33 looks absolutely massive

and an old usman GN shape https://www.instagram.com/p/BBHfYceqxai/ seen here

Any help is appreciated thanks

What's your budget? B3 seem to have access to a lot of low density willow but they will charge a serious premium.

Do B3 have access to clefts big enough to make the old oversize shapes? I thought they were all cut down to a smaller size from the source?

H4L cut their own clefts and have some OS ones, and you might be able to get one off GN Aus as a custom

Just out of curiosity OP, (but tell me to shutup)
What bat shape were you using before your horrible injury? Was it satisfying for you? (the bat not the injury)
What attracts you to those 2 or any oversize type shapes?
Is shape priority over weight/pickup/feel?
What if oversize shape feels disappointing? Will you plod on with the bat anyway?

had a mitch marsh replica, to be honest was saying it as a joke that it caused my issue or a bigger one will make sure it wont happen again
I miss big bats to be honest and when the craze of big bats happened such as the warner editions etc, i wasnt strong enough to use in a game and now with having enough upper body done i was hoping to get some as hunting them down are hard.
feel weight wont impact after gym was using a old 3 pound net bat i had was able to have around 2 hours of strict batting with it before i felt tired.
I was hunting down big bats as one to use as i am strong enough now but also for bat collection in general to add to it as i like to use bats before retiring into collection. Have got access to my mates bats from last year from who they have still got left from their brands that they are always offering me to have but would like big ones for the collection
