I hate the sponginess of multiple grips and so only use one. I prefer a thicker handle though because it gives me more control, so either have to get creative with them myself to get the feel I want (eg. medical tape, extra binding etc) or buy with a thick handle (eg. Aldred). Either way, I never have more than a single grip.

I don't use inners of any kind, and if I am in long enough then I would rather call for my other gloves. I like to be able to feel as much of the contact of ball on bat, extra grips and inners etc take that away for me.

Prefer to use one grip but will use two on any handle that is a bit too thin such as a Keeley or WCW.

Love the handles on a Scott, GM or Aldred.

Single chevron and medium think handle can’t stand thin handles at all

I use two chevron grips with a couple of layers of zinc oxide tape over each and a hex grip on top. The tape removes the squishy feeling of multiple grips in my experience

Back to one grip after trying one and a half.

All these years of playing still undecided whether 2grips actually improves pick up on a bat slightly too heavy

I remain of the view it just makes the bat heavier and makes no difference to pick up. Better technique can help more than a second grip.

Just one grip for me, the important bit is having the handle right in the first place - really there shouldn't be a need for more than one grip IMO.

All the super skinny handles from brands just trying to save scale weight is the real issue but that's enough thread entirely :D

Personally I love a skinny handle as I have small hands.

So one grip (lords taverner grip if poss) and that's that.

Best bat I've ever used was one of mine I made with a skinny handle replicated off a Malik I had a few years back and I've never looked back.

One chevron,,thinnish handle,,
Best shoulder /handle I’ve used was a laver,, so my bats are very similar in that respect

I find that for thin or medium round handle bats with mid low / low swells 2 grips definitely feel like they enhance the pick up, assume its creating a counterbalance of sorts but will leave that to the experts to confirm.
Currently experimenting with a chevron and kookaburras silicone grip which currently makes the handle feel softer/ slightly spongey. The plot twist is I havent decided if thats a good thing or not!

To be fair, Harrow bats tend to have thinner handles bud ;)

Always 2. Tried for a bit with 3 grips. Pickup improved but so did the bat rotating in hand. Specially with round handles. It's just prob me, but the handles these days are too thin to just have 1 grip.
