Flipper
« on: April 04, 2010, 11:53:23 AM »

Kind of a Weird topic, can anyone bowl one? I can bowl a sick one with a tennis ball and an even better one with a plastic ball, can bowl a semi decent one from 12-15 yards with a cricket ball but big struggle to get it any further.... So for all you Leggies and show offs, tell us what you can do!?

Just practice but very few leg spinners can bowl all the deliverys I can't bowl a googly but I still get wickets as I use what I have as more of a kumble bowler but for pro advice just look up a terry Jenner video he explains all better than anyone else will

Yeah I've seen it and I know how to bowl it just can't very well! lol. I can bowl a googly and a toppie and all the rest. :) just not enough finger strength for the flipper.

i can but i don't always do it on purpose, i have a dodgy action, and almost every ball i bowl comes out slightly differently, the only delivery i can bowl consistently is a googly, im better at a googly than a leg spinner, but i can bowl flippers, all be it often i do not mean to bowl them

Heh? For a flipper you have to move your thumb around to the back of the ball.... how can you do that by accident!? lol

All I bowl is the leggie, slider some times flipper but rare really quick one(as used to be a fast bowler) plus my googly is an obsvious off spinner but works some times but depends what type of leg spinner you want to be a big spinning warne or a kumble two different keg spinning styles but both very effective

I can do it, but it takes a lot of Dedicated time and effort to bowl it well, it doesn't happen like that. Variation is key to a leggie but, if you aren't already, focus on your stock ball pitching around middle and off. If you can land it there on a good drivable length, thats when variation is at its most useful.

I bowl SLA, but I've tried bowling chinaman before, with very varying degrees of success. The flipper is really difficult to bowl well, or at all! I can bowl googlies, toppies, and a very slight-turning leggie. that's about it! I'll stick to real spin cheers...

I've been told to bowl leg-spin because I can turn it alot. I don't have much variation apart from flight and I can bowl a top spinner, googlies are hard lol.
