New GN gear 09
« on: September 12, 2008, 01:59:41 PM »

As I posted before there's the Xiphos and Ignite.

There's also some new spikes, which I don't really care about. And yet another odd looking helmet from a manufacturer.

Xiphos and Ignite pics are below if you missed them.

Helmet looks like a 16 year olds Motorbike helmet, ha!

Tom can you post some pics of the Spikes please.  I like some of the GN spikes?

Helmet Info:

CARBO-LITE HELMET
New for 2009. Extremely lightweight and unique in design, the Carbo-lite moulded carbon helmet features a unique airflow ventilation design that significantly aids player comfort. The shell is lined with a new sweat absorption material, making batting or wicket keeping far more comfortable, even on the hottest of days.

A rounded peak design enhances the players’ peripheral vision by an extra 15 per cent. The Carbo-lite helmet is fitted with the Ti-Tech grille, made purely of titanium, making it both featherlight and extremely strong.

And yes Gareth will do pics of them

I don't like the look of that helmet. The ignite sticker's remind me of the aussie viper sticker's.

The Xiphos has twin scooping, almost a flat channel, on either side of the edges [along the length of the edge stickers]  The edges are rasied slightly above the channel

Has SS Jumbo type shoulder area and picked up well....

So the opposite kind of idea to the Slaz iBlade? Instead of raising the edges they've lowered them?

Yep Tom they're channelled along the edges about 1.5cm width and the edges are about 0.5cm higher also made the top part of the spine near the shoulder similar to the Jumbo [not flat like the jumbo though but sloping a bit].... and left a whole load of meat in the spine's hitting area..

And it picked up well....

Most impressed by the Aero Gloves though which was a surpise and loved the Newbery's

Have to say GN soft goods are always very very good especially the gloves, the new range again looks top notch.
