Eoin Morgan
« on: May 23, 2010, 09:56:37 AM »

In the test squad, and i think he has deserved his place, maybe for his clever shots in the shorter form of the game, but i think he can be just as good a player in the test form.
anybody else have views on his selection?

obviously a great timer of the ball, scored a good amount of runs in the one-day game and i think he deserves his place :)

He will either thrive or fail in the test team.

He's even said himself he needs to work on his 4 day game, let alone 5 days of tests in varying conditions around the world.

I would love to see him use his T20 style/inovation and Fcuk over the Australian,Pakistan etc bowling attacks.

Time will tell ;)

If he is in then he should be in for the whole summer barring a dramatic failure rate.....

Is he not there to replace Colly? Presuming Colly is fit for the Pakistan series I'm guessing this is just a brief experiment (if he even makes the starting XI)

I think he's been picked for his big match temperament as much as anything else.

Its certainly worth a try against Bangladesh, but where would you bat him? 5,6, or 7?
I think probably 6.

I think Will's team is the most probable, but possibly leaves the bowling a little shy with no Collingwood as back up - I'd maybe have gone with Luke Wright as opposed to Morgan.

As much as I like England with Prior at 6 and 5 specialist bowlers, i think they'll back themselves to take 20 wickets in early English conditions vs. Bangladesh

Trott & Pietersen may have to give 10-15 overs between them with the ball
