This new lad Umar Amin seems to be impressive. His technique is a treat to watch!

Umar amin is good, but it's all about umar akmal! I really hope he goes big tomorrow.
Both players pick the length of the ball really early, the big test will be tomorrow morning to see if they can cling on for the first hour.

What a cracking days play.Always good to see the Aussies under the cosh as they really set the benchmark for great Test cricket. On their day Pakistan can hammer anybody and in the next session can immediately lose the test match!

What a crazy opening over...this is Test match, remember, not Twenty20

39.6
Johnson to Umar Akmal, no run, what's this? Oh, it's a leave. How mundane from Umar.

Replays show that no-ball was very tight

39.6
Johnson to Umar Akmal, (no ball) 2 runs, oh my goodness, what's going on here...Umar has an almighty heave at this delivery which is full outside off, it was a no-ball but I'm not sure he'll have heard the call, and he skies it to cover. To cap it all there's nearly a run out. Blimey

39.5
Johnson to Umar Akmal, no run, full outside off and there's no holding back from Umar as he drives powerfully to mid-off

39.4
Johnson to Umar Akmal, FOUR, oh, that's a proper shot...stands tall and cuts at the top of the bounce through backward point. That flew off the bat and already Pakistan are away

39.3
Johnson to Umar Akmal, 2 runs, full outside off and what follows is a shambles...Katich misfields in the covers then Umar Akmal slips in the crease as he tries to turn for a third

39.2
Johnson to Umar Akmal, 2 runs, closer to the batsman and he doesn't need much invitation to have a flash as he gets a thick outside edge that lands short of gully who manages to get a hand on it

39.1
Johnson to Umar Akmal, no run, a real wild start, slung way outside off stump and that isn't far from a wide...not a great way to begin

never a dull moment...!!

arg... all that talent, so little brain  >:(

43.4
Johnson to Umar Akmal, OUT, 89.5 mph, gone! There's the breakthrough. A full length outside off draws Umar onto the front foot and the ball takes the outside edge through to the very tidy Tim Paine

 Umar Akmal c †Paine b Johnson 21 (20b 1x4 1x6) SR: 105.00

Oh dear Umar - are you working on your golf swing?

bad news for Amin too - still the Paks are pushing towards a useful lead - if they can get it to 200 then it is really game on...

closely followed by how not to play the short ball when holding a laminated bat (obviosuly that last bit it purely an alegation based on no facts whatsoever...)
