Hello Andy,
I have just finished re-touching mine, and Ive found that the back sticker looks better (to me atleast) if its not full width, so youve got to strike a happy medium between this and having it wide enough to protect the splice from moisture. Im not a fan of very long face splice stickers either (I had some matrrixx bats in to work on a while ago and I doubt that there would have been 45% willow exposed on the face). You could try lengthening them slightly but perhaps even having a seperate small sticker offset below with its top edge matching the bevel angle and then the rest of it doing and saying what ever you want (contrasting colour though). Even try the bevel angle, slanting back the other way.
Possibly a white grip would go well with them, but they do get grubby very quickly even from light use!
What program did you use to design them? The logos good, and would look brilliant in chrome though youll need to track down a foil printer for that. Your on the right track with the toe sticker, Ive noticed generally the most effective designs contain circles/ovals etc or match the contour of the spine and toe well. Also keep them understated in size.
