Its a joke tho this year, you have players like duminy playing for mumbai as they pay him and not his south african team. Its like , all you somerset fans, imagine if trescothick got bought in the ipl ( never would happen because of his illness but still) He would have to play for what ever IPL team who bought him and not somerset. plus, no english team ! its a massive joke!

Firstly JP Duminy plays for Cape Cobras, and they didn't qualify.

Secondly, the players agree to represent their IPL sides. Kallis and Steyn agreed previously to play for RCB over the Warriors. Their home received $400,000. The same happened with Ross Taylor and Cameron White.

Thirdly, English sides where rubbish last year, so they're no loss on the event.

There is no bias at all. If T&T and Mumbai had both qualified and Pollard choose Mumbai then T&T would be compensated.

Furthermore if it was Somerset and Mumbai then neither side receives compensation.

My understanding is that it's in the rules and all players contracts that IPL sides get first call on players.

They do, but home sides can say no. But they never do. $200,000 is normally to good to turn down
