Cheers mate, its just that I heard that they come out of the factory with thin plastic cover over them, so if you try oiling them, the oil just sits on the top and doesn't get soaked into the bat.

The plastic cover is quite thin, you can't take it off and you can't really see it, but if you run your hands over the bat you can feel it. Thats what I was told anyway.

To be honest lads, I oiled the Sher Amin and it was not soaking the oil in for some reason, I put a very thin layer on aswell. My friend checked it out and he reckons that there is a very thin plastic sheet on it which makes sense.

The same amount of oil was applied to Bubber Sher and it was fine

Never ever ever leave your bat in a cold shed or room for the dew to get to the bat. The moisture will ruin the bat. I wonder if you oiling it helps the bat in this situation

Its not plastic sheet, wrapper etc. MB bats have a thin coat of polycarbonate (Can't exactly what it is called) but I am 100% sure they have some sort of coating which doesn't allow oil to soak in. So to get rid of that coating peel it with a knife.

I was talking to MB owner when I got my bat he said I have made your bat water resistance by applying a coating. So I believe it is to repel water but am not 100% sure
