I don't agree with referrals at all. What are umpires there for at the end of the day they are there to make decisions and now they can't even do that without fear that their decision will be referred and their decision is overruled. Soon they will just be coat stands. On the lbw referrals will the umpires be able to use hawkeye or will they only get the same view as the umpire?

During all six games of the Stanford Super Series television umpire referrals will be in place should they be required. They will differ from the norm where player challenges will not be used but all umpires, including the 3rd umpire, can intervene and instigate a television referral system on any decision of doubt.

“Stanford 20/20 believes it is essential that this simplified and modernized innovation is in place to ensure that incorrect decisions are eliminated and the integrity of the game is maintained. Simply put, the umpires will control and officiate the game and the players will get on with the business of playing,” said Mike Haysman, Stanford 20/20 Director of Cricket.

“Stanford 20/20 feels that this umpire referral process is the most practical means to eliminate obvious mistakes and we see it as the way forward,” said Haysman.

I personally don't agree with the third umpire being able to over rule a decision whenever they see fit, I'm all for technology in some aspects, but as with any level of cricket what the umpire says goes and you respect that, there's no place in the game for the umpires decisions to be changed, if the technology is available to on field umpires to help them come to conclusion and cut out errors then thats fine, but when you start undermiming them, thats where the problems will start, and you might aswell consult the third umpire for every decision.

So if the 3rd umpire is watching on tele and sees the batsmen edge it and the umpire says not out will the 3rd umpire then tell the umpire that it was out and the umpire will then give him out?

Really dont agree with this, it takes too much time and you get sick of waiting but the positives are that it actually gives the correct outcome!

no

the process is that if the on field ump is in doubt , they will refer the decision to the 3rd Umpire
