Apologies for activating an old thread but I seen a Woodstock Airstream yesterday here in Aus for the first time.... OMFG did that thing ping.. Not a big fan of the mirror stickers but they certainly attracted attention.

Have seen a couple getting about mate. Mostly from Aussies who have played in the UK. I ended up getting one during my time over there, with the Mote CC discount. Was a good stick, I'd use them again.

Wow. I didn't realise they were still a big deal to be honest. Interested to see where this goes.

As far as I can see, it is a brand based around the skills of a very skilful and experienced bat maker.  How that works out if they try to upscale and John no longer makes all their bats will be interesting

Thank you for sharing the link to the article.

It's an interesting story, I can't imagine that investing in a relatively small brand is going to make a massive amount of money. I'm not sure how many cricket brands actually do make a significant profit each year.

The Newsome family are involved with Ansty, one of the sons still plays there. Club always has loads of Woodstock FKWs as they would get a discount. Always good stuff though.

John’s a great bloke. Met him a number of times when I was playing for Ludlow. He finishes the bats next to where he keeps his chickens which I always enjoyed.

Code THIRDMAN25 got you 25% off in February, don't know if it's still valid.

Think that was just for Feb from what I saw. They seem to run promotions fairly regularly.

They do love a discount - used to be the way that if you wanted money off you just asked to be 'sponsored' and were immediately granted a discount? Multiple guys I played with at uni fell for that one.

Have you seen how much they raised their prices at the start of the year? It went up a silly amount

Certainly not cheap but they do look roughly in line with other makers of a similar size?
