From a business point of view its a no brainer to get the bats imported rather than paying or doing the bats yourself?
Consumers may prefer British made but if the price is right they will be swayed especially in the current economic climate.
Buying British will strengthen our economy as it raises our GDP, so if you are paying £15/£20 extra for English made I would advise that you do this, as you pump money into the English brands and not necessarily the International brads e.g Adidas.

Well when you buy imports you pay a lot for shipping or custom charges, or some poor batmakers aren't being paid!

I have a good deal with a batmaker in India (price of a pint to make and finish a bat).

handmade is down to interpretation.....machines are used to form the shape of the bat and then the handles and sanding is done by hand.

Bats that are handmade from a raw handles cleft wouldn't be cost effective to make comparred to a CNC machined bat now
