2011 Season Targets
« on: November 21, 2010, 10:14:56 AM »

As im sure many of you are pining for the winter to go away and bring back the cricket season, i thought id stick up a topic for 2011 targets before winter nets start.
I'll get the ball rolling :)

Batting Target - Break into Saturday 1sts as was on verge at end of season. Score 1200 runs on Sat/Sun. Have 2 centuries in there somewhere. Average 40+

Bowling Target - Improve my bowling enough to get myself used more. Considering how little it is likely that i will bowl 10 wickets at an average of under 25 with a economy of under 4.5rpo is my target.

come on chaps..

I personally think this topic is a touch premature. I usually set targets in Feb/March dependent on how good I feel in the nets. A rough target would be hold down a first team spot in top 6, score couple of centuries and get my skipper out in the nets to maybe get a bowl on Saturday....

Agreed Choppy. But off the top of my head, 50 wickets, 100 runs for the season, and hold every catch that comes my way. So take wickets, score runs, catch. ;)

my targets for next season........

score my first league ton, and to bat through the innnings at least once, an average of 30+ would be nice as well.....

catches- to take 90% of chances

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

1000 runs minimum, 1500 runs ideally.

20 wickets - though would prefer not to have to bowl too much, as I'm rubbish.

On Saturdays, for the team to be able to bowl sides out and win games (we had 5 draws in 2009 where we had the opposition 9 down at the end of the game).  I'm doing my Level 2 coaching at the moment, and am hopefully going to get our practise sessions much more organised.

On Sundays, having been promoted in 2010 we need to establish ourselves in a higher division, and maybe win a cup or two if poss.

On the coaching front I have a massive challenge, as I have been appointed lead coach for the colts section of another club.  I need to write 6 months worth of sessions and deliver these so that the kids improve and have some fun along the way.  This is definitely my biggest goal and challenge for 2011.

In league, 350 league runs which I think is gettable. Also take around 20 wickets which is also just about feasable! Take as many catches as possible :)

Not sure yet guys as may be joining a new league, think it will be more around the team performance rather like to make winning contributions even if that means 20-30's
