Spiking trainers.
« on: December 19, 2010, 04:40:31 PM »

Just wondering who knows the best place to send some trainers for spiking? Price and quality of service. Heard good thongs about owzat but also heard it costs around £40 and the sole splits easily. If it helps I have just bought some adidas attune clima cool running trainers.
Thanks

PRetty sure Owzat have it done by BandB anyway. They are the best as they have a machine that sews the sole onto the boot rather than gluing it

So do they remove the rubber sole and replace it? I was hoping the spikes would have gone into the sole rather than remove it as the rubber adds a little protection the the front of the trainer

They sand off the original tread and stich the new sole onto it

When you say 'shave the original tread off' how far down do they go? I had some trainers done 4/5 years ago and they can back smart as but very heavy. Would love to get a pair of Adidas running shoes spiked up as long as they came back nearly as light as they went!

Erm well I'm not entirely sure I am just going on what Bill from Fusion told me, they shave the tread down so its smooth if you get what I mean. As trainers usually have ridges on the bottom.

Spoke with Brian today. Very nice chap, extremely helpful. Talked me through the process and what the do. Can't complain at the price either. Will let you know what the adidas attunes are like when I get them back. Might weigh them before and after The job.
