Right after my last topic failed miserably in the fact that no one has got up close to one of Watsons GM Flare Bats to  have a look at it etc and it turned into a near libelous slanging match!! Has anyone got in their possession a genuine bat that was made for and used by a professional player at test match or first class level of cricket?!!!!!! If so could you please post pics? And can no one put up pics of bats good enough for Professional players. It would be nice if some of the bat makers could maybe post some of their bats they have made for their pro clientele etc.
It would also be nice if we had a world wide response! As by all accounts a lot of Aussies are on this site now, i might get hold of a bat that was used at test match level this week and will post pictures if i do.

Cheers Sam, I should have a rather tall west Indian players test match cricketers bat by the end of the week, unfortunately i can't say whose it was as it will get the bat maker in serious trouble but i am sure the eagle eyed bat nerds on here will spot whose it is by the profile etc once they get to see it.

if it is the simply very tall w. Indian's bat, then he was mentioned in a Newbery advert in the latest Wisden as getting his bats made there.
I have heard there are a few floating about in Sussex and played against someone with one last year. He was a big lad using it and needed to be. It was such an alien bat, the proportions were so different to normal bats. it looked almost stretched. Made me think that this "person" was almost playing a different game to the rest of us.
I guess sometime he looks like he is to be fair

Interested in seeing the "very" tall west Indian's bat though. Although is he a batsmen at all?

Well i promise you guys if i could tell you i would, but this very tall west Indian lad who is sponsored by a world wide sports brand is a great guy and he said it was ok for me to have one of his bats, but apparently top cricket companies are very protective of their willow that they have reseved for their top players. So when on my travels later this week i will pick it up. But it would be great to see other pro bats, as i have to say the Tresco bat i worked on lately did not look like anything special but it's performance was out of this world.

Bat on the left was originally 3'4oz and made for Ronnie Irani for T20. He retired the year it was made, before the T20 started and it sat in the Morrant shop in Woodfood as it was never picked up. I found it when I was looking for a bat to take up north (I was moving due to work) and the shop guys told me the background. I used it at 3'4 for a while and then had some weight shaved off it by the guys at Kippax. This is the 2'13oz version with approx an inch off the toe and a fair bit off the shoulder area, plus handle thinned. I've actually sold it to a mate who can handle that weight (though it picks up lighter).
