I have a mate of mine Navarone SPS here that has snapped in exactly the same way, the bat was virtually brand new! I can get pics of that too if anyone wants to see it! So I assume its not just me? Also I have a Thruxton that is in great shape that I've had much longer! And yeah the toe guard fell off!

I have used 1 actual Newbery and did not rate it at all.

   Nope Tim's toe pressing is rock solid and he'd gladly show you by whacking and I mean whacking a cricket bat on a ball on the ground with one his bats

Minions? There's 3 people there full-time at the factory, 2 of them are Nick and Tim and all are very highly skilled producing quality bats with some of the best tools/technology around.

Bats always break at the toe or handle. Its not necessarily because they're poorly made or pressed, it's the weakest point of the bat.

Bats break quicker in indoor nets, the floors are much harder than an average club pitch so if the ball gets jammed between the bat and floor you're more likely to get a breakage.

That couple with bat breaking balls being used means that you get a few returns during the winter months.

This in my eyes warrants a return and I'd probably replace it, but would have to inspect further.

the indian/pakistan balls most of our guys use have rock hard centres,ive lost count of the amount of balls ive banned from bowling at me in the nets.

anyway,for the poor guy whose bat has broke-i'm pretty sure,not 100 per cent sure,Newbery will replace this for you as it's under a year old.
A nice letter or a personal visit would be the way to go.Newbery replaced mine a while back without any problem.
Newbery are pretty good with replacements in my experience

Any CRICKET bat should come with a standard 12 month warranty. It doesnt matter where you bought it from (other than ebay or a friend), but if you bought it from any seller then thats teh warranty it comes with.

The bat you have shown is unrepairable and should be replaced. It has nothing to do with newcastle sports or whoever they are. Its up to Newbery , however they should be replacing it. The bat may have to be sent away for Newbery to inspect however.

With that crack as its gone through the whole bat theres nothing you can seriously do that can legitimately repair it. Its not like a surface crack that can be sanded down or glued etc. The three types of repairs which cant be fixed are the one in your picture, any series crack to the back of the bat and damage to the shoulder.

Hads - his contract is with Just Sport Newcastle. Not with Newbery. So I'm afraid it does have a hell of a lot to do with Just Sport.

Who says cricket bats must have a warranty for 12 months too?
